When King Arthur’s legendary sword Excalibur is stolen from a museum, it awakens a dragon and the descendent of a legendary knight who must join forces to find the powerful relic before its dark magic falls into the wrong hands.
Synopsis:
Late at night in Sicily, foreign soldiers break into a museum to steal the legendary sword Excalibur. When a soldier is accidentally cut, he feels a surge of magical power that simultaneously awakens ULRIC THE DRAGON in a tunnel in England. As Excalibur’s loyal protector, Ulric is determined to recover the magic sword before it falls into the wrong hands. Meanwhile, misanthropic New York lawyer CLAIRE EINER works late during the holidays with no interest in Christmas cheer. Suddenly, she screams in pain as dragon scales cover her hands! She’s also shocked to have superhuman strength. When breaking news shows a dragon in England, she feels a psychic connection and immediately leaves to find him.
In Washington D.C., Professor ANDREW FALCO secretly delivers the cloth-wrapped sword to President HENRY ABBOTT. As they hide it in Abbott’s private White House bunker, Falco warns that touching Excalibur’s metal can corrupt people. Meanwhile, Claire finds Ulric and learns that she’s been cursed as the ancestor of the knighted dragon slayer Leodegrance. Only Excalibur can restore her hands. As they fly to find the sword, Ulric is shot down by soldiers! To heal his wounds, Ulric and Claire mix their blood. They instantly become stronger and Claire shoots fire from her hands as they battle soldiers to escape. Later, Ulric transforms into a human so they can travel undercover. Suddenly, Ulric knows Excalibur’s location as Abbott touches the magic sword to help his re-election campaign.
The President relishes his newfound power. When China launches an attack against the US, he secretly uses magic to kill China’s top leaders. Falco now suspects that Excalibur is corrupting Abbott. Meanwhile, Ulric is shot at the US border and must transform into a dragon to escape with Claire. The White House goes on high alert when a power-mad Abbott uses Excalibur to knock guards unconscious. Suddenly, Ulric and Claire crash into the Oval Office to demand the sword but they’re struck down by giant flames as an enraged Abbott exclaims, “I am the new King Arthur! Bow to me!”
When the President stabs Ulric in the chest, Claire touches the wound to heal the dragon. Ulric grabs Excalibur as Claire knocks Abbott unconscious. As they wrap the sword in cloth to ensure everyone’s safety, Claire touches it and a burst of power ends her curse and returns her hands to normal. They can now return Excalibur to its rightful place: the realm of magic. Ulric and Claire share a tearful goodbye before the dragon and sword disappear into a lake. Claire returns to New York and secretly produces a flame from her fingers to light a birthday candle.
